The purpose of this role is as follows:
Leading the planning function to balance supply and demand, machine scheduling, leaf planning, material requirement planning (MRP), maintaining master data in SAP, overseeing procurement, and fostering productive relationships between various stakeholders from the factory, market, and global team are among the responsibilities of this role. Additionally, this position supports the management of tax stamps from the factory, inventory control that complies with stock norms, timely stock connectivity, and the completion of the planning cycle in integrated business processes (IBP) in compliance with international timelines. Principal aide to the Manufacturing Services Manager for analysis, forecasting, and preparation of associated Purchase Requisitions pertaining to Leaf, Production, and Material Planning.

What actions will you take? – Obligations:

  • (Supervise direct reports, define tasks and responsibilities of subordinates, ensure the applicability of business conduct standards, nurture team spirit, motivate to boost up confidence, foster team development and ensure proper evaluation of subordinates) Lead the planning function with expected leadership traits.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills to build relationships with colleagues worldwide, Leaf, Market, and GSC. Lead the group in achieving the factory KPI in cooperation with other departments, making sure that the plan is energy-efficient, raising the percentage of OEE, reducing write-offs, and maximizing planning savings.
  • Ensure that resources are properly connected to prevent out-of-stock situations. Create business flows and maintain master data in SAP to effectively ensure production continuity.
  • Make sure to plan for the short, medium, and long terms. At all levels, maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production planning. Analyze and follow up frequently.
  • Organizes and plans factory production activities taking into account market trends, sales projections, material availability, and factory production limits. This leads to balanced inventories that comply with warehouse excellence requirements and optimized efficiency.
  • Emphasize the need for future development using accurate loading levels and capacity calculations. Carry out Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and schedule projects, overtime, and downtime in accordance with monthly production requirements. Engage in active participation in the filing of effective Annual Strategic Plans (ASP) over a three-year period.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to ISO/EHS, 5S3R processes and programs, identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and making sure control measures are put in place. Actively show your dedication to health and safety by making quick changes to any harmful working practices or situations.

Whom are we trying to find? – Needs:

  • A degree in engineering, statistics, economics, or any other relevant discipline
  • Three to five years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • An added benefit is understanding how cigarettes are made.
  • SAP and IBP, advanced computer abilities, English and Kiswahili.
