Answers to: Manager of the Restaurant


The duties of the restaurant cashier include handling cash registers, processing customer transactions, and delivering top-notch customer care.


  • Handle all consumer transactions—cash, credit card, and debit card payments—with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Pay close attention to the customer’s order to make sure all the details are accurate.
  • Before entering the order into the POS system, repeat it back to the customer to ensure accuracy.
  • Retain a current comprehension of the menu.
  • Verify that every item on each takeout order is included by comparing it twice with the receipt.
  • Take extra care to follow any unique guidelines or adjustments.
  • Throughout the shift, keep a close eye on the cash drawer to make sure the necessary amount of float is maintained.
  • In order to deliver individualized service, actively listen to the demands and preferences of the clients.
  • Respond coolly and competently to any concerns or grievances from customers. Make it a point to promptly address issues in order to satisfy clients.
  • Make sure the customers comprehend the menu options, prices, and any special deals by speaking firmly and properly in English.
  • Even though fluency in English is required, knowing other languages can be advantageous and help provide better service to a more varied clientele.
  • At all times, keep up a welcoming and approachable appearance. A sincere smile enhances the eating experience for customers and contributes to the welcome atmosphere.
  • To maintain a seamless operation, closely collaborate with every member of the team.


  • Two years minimum of experience in a similar sector.
  • A diploma in business administration, accountancy, or a similar discipline.
  • Strong organizing and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient command of both written and spoken English.
  • Strong numerical abilities and meticulousness.
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
